Wetland Park

I went to the Wetland Park at the end of November.  The park is located in the Northwestern part of the New Territories in Hong Kong.  Its next to Tin Shui Wai, which has the nickname city of sadness.  The people I was with didn't elaborate much on how it earned this nickname but wikipedia has a decent description.

Stanley Market visit

Visited Stanley Market the other weekend.  Located on the south-east part of Hong Kong Island, I saw a lot of people from all over.  I had some ice cream while there but mostly walked around and looked at the restaurants and shops.  I chose the hottest day so far this month to go though so I'll probably need to go again some other time to spend more time there.

Hong Kong Malls

At some point I'll take more pictures, but hopefully these will convey the size of malls here in Hong Kong, which is to say, they are big.

Kowloon Walled City Park

On August 22nd I went to Kowloon Walled City Park.  Before it was torn down, the Walled City was a densely populated place.  It was the site of all sorts of illegal activity due to it belonging to China even though it was surrounded by British Hong Kong.  In the early 1990s the place was demolished and a park built on part of it.  Anyways, google it for more info.  Time for pictures.

Saturday night

Saturday night I was on Hong Kong Island again, pulled out my camera and took two pictures.  So here's a small glimpse of the streets at night.

Hong Kong Island trip

On Sunday I went up the Tram to the top of Hong Kong Island.  The tram began operation over a hundred years ago.  Its very pretty and once you escape the touristy stuff at the top of the lift there are some nice trails and walking areas.

The View from the apartment

This is the view from my new apartment, on the 29th floor(the top floor).  Across the water is the race course, where apparently horse racing occurs.
